Time to let the "secret" out

About a month ago I went to UMMC's Quick Care clinic for employee's and their family members with a headache that had gotten worse over 24 hrs. Keep in mind, I have been dealing with these headaches for almost 10 years now.... By this time I have had just about as much as I can stand... She gave me meds to treat as a migraine and also wanted to get a CT scan to make sure nothing else was going on. She told me to go home and sleep and she would call me later that afternoon with the results. She called me and said that the CT showed a 17 mm pineal cyst on my pineal gland in my brain and that she wanted to follow up with an MRI with and without contract. The next morning that's what we did... My head was still killing me.... She called me that afternoon with the results of the MRI and it did confirm that I have an 18 mm Pineal cyst on my Pineal gland. All indications appear that it is benign. She suggested that I follow up with a neurologist. I actually already had an appointment scheduled the next Monday with a neurologist who specializes in headaches and she told me to go see that doctor. Well that doctor just put me on medicine to control my headaches and told me she wasn't concerned with the cyst. The meds seem to be working but I'm not okay with just being told that the cyst isn't a concern, I need more information than that... So I came to see a UMMC neurologist today to get a second opinion, or I guess you might could say a first opinion haha

I started writing this post a week ago and I am just now getting around to finishing it up. My second opinion went well and I was told that we would get another MRI in march and if the Cyst has changed size or structure then we will see what else needs to be done but if nothing has changed then I will follow up once a year with an MRI and doctors appointment and continue medications as long as the headaches stay under control. Please keep me and my family in your prayers.

Art Sunday

After church on Sunday we ate lunch, played and then took an extra long nap... Next thing I knew it was 6 pm!!!!! So Jonathan got up and while we were getting supper ready I let Jonathan enjoy some finger painting :)

Sorry I took such a long blog break!!

Now that this mama has a better phone, hopefully I can now keep now followers more updated :)

Jonathan has grown so much since the last blog and has developed more than I can even express! On July 13th he had his tonsils and adenoids removed. It involved an over night stay at Blair E Batson but we survived it and he has been doing great since!!!

My job at UMMC pavilion is going pretty well. It isn't Renalab, but there will never be another job like Renalab..

Well this will be a short blog for tonight, just wanted to see if this app would work and make sure I had a quick and easy way to blog now :) hope to keep every one updated more :) I sure have some stories to share!!

Happy Leap Day!!

It has been a while since I last posted, and boy do I have several pictures to share, but those will be posted this weekend. 

I am on my 4th week at my job at UMMC-Pavilion. It is alot different than Renalab that is for sure.  I believe that once I get use to the work, the pace, and the new people I  will love my job.  Right now, I am having a hard time dealing with the fact that the job I loved so much and thought I would be at forever was taken right from under me... Please continue to pray for my Renalab family, there are alot without a job.

Jonathan is growing like a weed!!! I am really enjoying getting off earlier and being able to spend a little more time with him than I was.  His little personality is growing each day and some days I think we maybe hitting the terrible twos a little early lol :)

Tomorrow will mark 10 days since I have posted a status on Facebook.  I am pretty tired of seeing someone that I haven't seen in years and hearing them say that they keep up with me on facebook.  I have posted pictures but nothing about what I am doing or how I am feeling.  If I post another status it will be a quote or bible verse.  If someone wants to keep up with me, just message me and I will give you my phone number and you can call me and actually talk to me.  I am not trying to be rude in anyway, I just don't like this "technology era" that we have grown into... What would you do without your Smart Phone or a cell phone in that matter? You would use a pay phone, if they still made those..but they don't. Anyway, what I'm saying is, enjoy the pictures and the quotes and if you'd like to really keep in touch just let me know :) I will continue to post on my blog, and as you can tell, its a little more limited now-a-days seeing as though I can not update posts at work on here. But I will do the best that I can.

New Beginnings

This week began my first week at UMMC.  It is certainly alot different than where I was at, mainly just a whole lot bigger.  Of course being the first week it was mainly orientation and a little training.  Once I get the hang of everything I'm about 99% sure that I'm going to really enjoy my job.

I think Jonathan is having to adjust a little bit more than I am.. before this week I didn't have to be at work until 9  AM but now I have to be at work at 7:15 AM so that means he has to be up by 6:05 AM and he doesn't like that to much but he will get use to it :)

I just ask that everyone continue to pray for my family and the journey that God is leading us on. I feel that this is going to be a wonderful year and its all in the Glory of God!!

GLORY BE TO GOD

Last Friday, I went on a job interview at UMMC in the Cardiology department for a Medical Office Assistant position. I thought the interview went very well but I wasn't trying to get to excited.  I received a call today for the lady that I interviewed with and she said, "I would like to invite you to be apart of our team if your interested."  DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT WAS FOR ME NOT TO CRY, LAUGH, YELL YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS THANKKKKK YOOOUU!!!!!!!!!! :)

Human Resources will be calling me Monday or Tuesday to offer salary and start date.  

I want to thank each and everyone one of you that have been praying for me and my work family!! Please continue to pray for my co-workers.

BIBLE STUDY

About two years ago, Chris and I started a bible study at out house.  After Jonathan was born and a few other life events happened for several friends, we stopped having them.  My friend, Jenifer, came to me last night and asked if we could start it back up.  Of course I had to tell her I had to talk to Chris first, but I just wanted to scream YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!! I knew Chris would say yes but I needed to make sure. 

So... We will be starting our bible study next Thrusday ( 01/26/2012) at 7:00 PM at our house.   Anyone is welcome to come and if you have any suggestions on topics please let me know :)
